The doctors of Madrid hospitals suspend the strike this Wednesday and advance in their negotiation of improvements

There will be no strike this Wednesday among the doctors of public hospitals; The convening unions, Amyts and Afem, decided yesterday to suspend it for this day – there are another four days requested in April and May – after a long negotiation of more than five hours with the Ministry of Health.

The approaches, signed between the parties, refer to various issues: on the one hand, the 35-hour day, in which I want to advance within the powers of the Ministry; the increase in the value of the on-call hour, which is going to be studied; the apportionment of the guards in a situation of temporary incapacity, which was not carried out as a result of the extension of the 2022 budgets for this year, and promised to carry over to the 2024 budgets.

In addition, the possibilities of recovering purchasing power will also be raised, and meetings of a working group will be started to study transfer contests and start their call, which in any case "will be done no earlier than the second semester of 2024". , as committed yesterday.

It is also going to create another working group to prepare an Emergency and Emergencies plan. Both parties have agreed to continue negotiating to sign a definitive agreement on these planted reforms.

As explained by Daniel Bernabéu, president of Amyts, he decided to suspend today's strike "as a gesture of goodwill towards the Ministry", but detected that "we need more specificity in some aspects".
