It is a government institution that offers complementary services to senior citizens, especially those who have dedicated their lives to work. Requirements to join the Imserso for the first time
Do you want to travel pleasantly using the government programs available for such purposes? Well, take advantage of the benefits of Imserso and surely you will be able to visit cities such as Madrid, Melilla, Valencia or any other. Here are the main requirements:
- Having Age 65 or more
- Be registered in the Public Pension System as a retiree or pensioner
- Be enrolled in the Public Pension System as widowhood pensioner, being at least 55 years old
- Be part of the Public Pension System with any other type of pensioner, after reaching 60 years of age
Complete the registration

Face-to-face application
- Visit the Imserso Central Services, which you will find in the city of Madrid, specifically in the Ginzo de Lima street, 58 - 28029
- Go to the Imserso Central Services that have been designated by the different Autonomous Communities
- It is important to know that only Valencia offers this service, enabling offices in cities such as Valencia, Castellón de la Plana and Alicante

- Download the app from Dependence, an APP available that you will find in Google Play Store
- If you already have it downloaded to your cell phone or mobile device, store the unit’s QR code, also known as quick response code, to carry out the request
Application for people living abroad
- If you are a Spanish citizen living abroad, you can sign up for Imserso
- You must be a resident of countries such as Andorra, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Norway, Luxembourg, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Norway
- Visit the corresponding Labor Department to process the application
Travel modes available
The 2019 - 2020 season holds many surprises. If you are of advanced age and want to enjoy an impressive trip at low prices, take a look at the following modalities that Imserso offers:
- Inland tourism: It consists of the trip and a stay between 4 and 6 days. It offers services such as national tourism, central circuits, visits to the cities of Melilla and Ceuta, and visits to some of the capitals of the Spanish provinces.
- Trips to the Insular Coast: The length of stay can be 8, 10 and 15 days. This modality offers attractive packages to the Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Menorca, Cabrera, Ibiza and Formentera) and the Canary Islands.
- Trips to the Peninsular Coast: The stay can be of 8, 10 and 15 days. The most common destinations are the Community of Valencia and Catalonia, the Community of Murcia and Andalusia.
What do the trips scheduled by Imserso include?

- General health service and a health policy
- Just for this time, Imserso has implemented a subsidy system of up to 50% of the value of the square for those with a low income
Other considerations
If you have already registered and are part of the Imserso program, you have to know that there are certain dates to request a trip. Every year, they are published through its website.
If you make any request outside the established date, the system will place you as a substitute. This means that you will enter the waiting list for a vacancy.
Once the application has been completed, the system will assign the corresponding places taking into consideration age of travelers, economic situation and participation in Imserso at other times.
When a place is approved and assigned, all applicants will receive the notification. After that, you will only have to wait for the chosen date, take your bags and travel around the country to enjoy the beauties that our Motherland hides.
