Manifestation page of the "will to agree" on the financing model that the Board presents to the Government of Spain

The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, today expressed a "clear will" to agree with the Spanish State on the regional financing model. Thus, he has advanced that the regional government is going to present to the central Executive a model whose origin is agreed upon in the Castilian-Manchego Parliament, "a very ambitious proposal and originating in the coordinates that marked, unanimously, the regional Parliament."

The president has invited the chambers of commerce, the businessmen, the unions and all the political representatives to make an effort and "let's strive to refine the orchestra" convinced that, he has said, "the more united the region is, the more easily it will be defended.”

The head of the regional Executive made these statements, from the City Council of Alcazár de San Juan (Ciudad Real), where a defining meeting of the intermodal platform for this town, a communications hub of Castilla-La Mancha and the country, took place.

In this context, García-Page has considered that while Spain has made a qualitative leap in land communications with a significant number of motorways, ports and airports, as well as in high-speed rail transport for passengers, it is becoming necessary "the revolution of freight transport by rail" and with it the consequent electrification of the tracks.

In this context, it has specified that this autonomous community has interests in the Mediterranean Corridor, in the Atlantic Corridor and, how could it be otherwise, in the Central Corridor. "This leads us to be behind several projects like this one in Alcázar and another similar one in Albacete", he specified.

Likewise, and referring to the Atlantic Corridor, Emiliano García-Page expressed his support for the Portuguese Government's decision to commit to a strategy of absolute connectivity at all its borders, a strategy that will benefit most of the infrastructure and communications. “Talavera can breathe easier, like Extremadura, so that, once and for all, we can see the completion of this project, which is one of the few that remain pending at high speed”, he pointed out.

"Spain can make an extraordinary competitive leap if it has the opportunity", pointed out the president of Castilla-La Mancha, in addition to the necessary support that the Public Administrations must give to this type of intermodal platform.

Likewise, he recalled that in a short space of time the first green hydrogen molecule will be produced in Puertollano (Ciudad Real), which entails a further step in the generation of energy that does not depend on fossil fuels. “Reducing energy dependence is gaining sovereignty in this matter”, she has argued.

In addition to the president of Castilla-La Mancha, the mayor of Alcázar de San Juan, Rosa Melchor, and the mayor of Algeciras, José Ignacio Landaluce, have appeared before the media.
