Belarra ignores Díaz's platform in his speech before Podemos

We can ignore the existence of Yolanda Díaz this Saturday. The leader of Podemos and Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, did not make a single reference in her 17-minute speech to the political project of the second vice president, who yesterday in Madrid, and who intends to reconfigure an alternative leftist project to the PSOE . The first act of Sumar brought together more than 5.000 people in Matadero; and Belarra made them all disappear in her message as if she were a magician.

This is how they weather the tension with Díaz because of the power they will have in their future candidacy. The vice president had asked the parties not to send the first swords to the presentation of the platform so as not to steal the limelight from the social groups and they did not use them either.

Despite the fact that Belarra has not mentioned anything about Sumar, the number two of the party and Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, has made an assessment with which to cover their backs for those who silenced them at the CCE meeting. "Yolanda is our candidate, she has launched her process and that is good news, she is the one who makes the decisions and what we are going to do is respect and work," Montero said on RNE.

"Take care of the coalition"

Belarra has requested coverage after the latest clashes over military spending, focused her attacks on Alberto Núñez Feijóo's PP and insistently revived the determined role that Podemos has. It is the second time that the leader of Podemos has appeared before Podemos so far this week. He did it on Monday at the State Coordination Council, after the extraordinary credit of 1.000 million euros for Defense approved by the Council of Ministers; and he did it today, in the State Citizen Council (CCE).

In one of his criticisms of the PSOE, Belarra has said that "in recent weeks" it is Podemos that "alone" has defended what are possibly "the hallmarks of a progressive government." A phrase in which he ignores other sectors of United We Can; not only to Díaz, who also led the protests over military spending and requested a meeting to follow up on the coalition pact, but to the Comunes and Izquierda Unida. Aligned these last two, percent, with the vice president. Details.

In line with the conversations between Cospedal and Villarejo that have come out in the media to harm Podemos, Belarra has charged against the Popular Party with force. "The PP, Mr. Feijoo's party, not only despises the most basic principles of our democracy (...) but has worked intensely since the emergence of Podemos," he said. And he added: “The damage to Spanish democracy is irreparable. We will never know what electoral result we would have obtained were it not for the lies and hoaxes that have been leveled against us.”

Budget Negotiation

Podemos wants to play a decisive role in the negotiation of the 2023 Budgets, taking into account inflation. Belarra has required the president, Pedro Sánchez, to "reorient" the course. He has also insisted on the approval of the housing law and the repeal of the gag law.

"See to continue trying to convince the partner that what our country needs to protect itself from the economic and social consequences of war is not to invest in more combat aircraft, but to armor up purchasing power", said the minister.

Díaz and Belarra will coordinate to remind Sánchez to arrive at the nation's debate that he is holding in Congress this week with a "homogeneous" and "progressive" speech so that the PP does not charge against them for their divisions.
