The alternative list to lead Podemos in Galicia is suspicious of Yolanda Díaz

On paper, the act that Yolanda Díaz starred in the Pazo de la Ópera in La Coruña on Friday night had nothing to do with the imminent primary elections from which the new leadership of Podemos in Galicia will emerge, in view of its objective of return to the regional Parliament after being fired in the 2020 election crash. indirectly form his derived visit to certify an issue related to the internal battle for control of Podemos in the Community: that while for some the Minister of Labor and Economy Social is a bulwark, another sector hides from it and remains distant.

Díaz tried to bring together on Friday the different sensibilities of the political space of the Podemos orbit. But he only half succeeded. The Coruña amphitheater was approached by Antón Gómez-Reino, the current general secretary of Podemos Galicia, who is already the direction of the formation after the primaries. In the internal electoral city, Gómez-Reino announced that he supported Borja San Ramón, current organization secretary of Podemos Galicia, who on Friday also revealed Yolanda Díaz at the event. There was also representation from Compostela Aberta —Marta Lois— and Marea Atlántica —María García and Xiao Varela—. But Gonzalo Busqué did not appear there, the leader of the alternative that will compete with the 'government' party led by San Ramón —and who sponsors the current leadership of Gómez-Reino.

That the continuist candidacy to lead the purple formation in the Community embraces the figure of Yolanda Díaz not only became clear with the staging on Friday in the Coruña amphitheater, but they also explicitly verbalized it in the presentation of the list. And also in writing. The political document of his candidacy, metaphorically baptized as 'Tecer Galicia' —sew—, recognizes the "leaderships" of both the Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, in the organizational sphere, and Yolanda Díaz, as a reference of the political space in the that moves we can Belarra, for objectives "aimed at growing as an organization"; and Díaz, because "her image of her management and efficiency represents the greatest opportunity for us to become part of a state government in favor of the social majority", according to the text collected by Europa Press. This Saturday, San Simón presented the lists of his candidacy in La Coruña, with which he wants to "open a new stage", in which to "weave alliances", not only with other policies but also with the citizenry. "Incorporate voices," they say, "in order to stop the extreme right."

"Yolanda Díaz represents the greatest opportunity for Podemos to become part of a state government again"

The alternative candidacy

Maximum respect

Also this Saturday, but in the afternoon and in Santiago, Gonzalo Busqué presented 'Resurxir Podemos', his alternative candidacy to try to take control of the purple formation in the Community. And the greatest point of interest in the city of Compostela levitated over the figure of Yolanda Díaz.

Gonzalo Busqué was clear in this regard. They are available to join forces with the new political project of the Galician minister, but as long as the purple formation does not lose "visibility". "We are not going to accept going on a project in which Podemos does not have a fit," declared Busqué, according to Europa Press.

The alternative candidate showed his “maximum respect” for Díaz's leadership, an “example” of “what a minister who governs for the people has to be. But behind the praise for his ministerial work there are precautions. The alternative candidate for the primary elections remains "awaiting" how the Sumar project evolves and how it relates to the rest of the parties and organizations: "Our position is clear: participate in Sumar if there is visibility in Podemos and we are important as party. We will not put ours in the background”.
