A breakdown leaves 7.000 residents in Valencia without electricity in the heat of the heat wave

A fault has left some 7.000 residents of the Quatre Carreres district of the city of Valencia without electricity in the heat of a heat wave and with temperatures of thirty degrees even at dawn. The electricity supply cut began on Friday around 19.00:XNUMX p.m. until this Saturday morning, in the most extreme cases, due to an incident in the medium voltage underground line.

This has been confirmed by Iberdrola, while they have pointed out that several faults on the same line, which they are repairing and that have prevented them from carrying out the feedback maneuvers, for which they have had to install generator sets to progressively replenish the supply.

In this sense, they have assured that at 2.00:500 a.m. the energy had already been restored "to more than half of those affected" and they have reported that approximately XNUMX customers remain without electricity by late afternoon.

Internet Complaint

For their part, numerous residents of the neighborhoods of the Quatre Carreres district have issued their complaints and criticisms of the company through their social network accounts, where they have reported having been without hanging supply for several hours "in the heat of a heat wave".

So far, 17 generator sets have been connected and a total of 20 have been mobilized "in case components are necessary to reinforce the supply". More than 75 workers from the company and collaborating companies work on these tasks.

From Iberdrola it has stated that the repairs of the underground lines are "long" because "you have to locate the fault by means of a radar and proceed to dive to reach the line and repair it".

For this reason, the company has confirmed that it will work to finish redistributing the electrical units in parallel and continue repairing the damage. In addition, he added that, during the day, the groups had to be redistributed due to the increased load.

The forecast is that due to the delay on Saturday, the service will be fully restored. To the extent that the red is normalized, the company has indicated, there will be interruptions of short duration due to the disconnection of the generator sets.
