The Western Anatolia region, where the office of the Honorary Consular Office of Spain in Eskisehir is located, has become an important production center for numerous Spanish companies. Not only the province of Eskisehir, but also neighboring provinces, such as Ktahya, Usak and Afyonkarahisar, their important industrial centers and productive industries with Spanish investments.

The opening of an Honorary Consular Office will provide support to Spanish companies in the Western Anatolia region and ensure economic-commercial relations between the Republic of Turkey and the Kingdom of Spain.

For this reason, in accordance with the provisions of article 48.1 of Law 2/2014, of March 25, on the Action and the Foreign Service of the State, in relation to the Regulation of Honorary Consular Agents of Spain abroad, approved by Royal Decree 1390/2007, of October 29, at the initiative of the General Directorate of Foreign Service, in accordance with the proposal made by the Embassy of Spain in Ankara, with the favorable report of the General Directorate of Spanish Abroad and Consular Affairs and the Directorate General for North America, Eastern Europe, Asia and the Pacific, available at:

Article 1 Creation of the Honorary Consular Office of Spain in Eskisehir and its constituency

The Honorary Consular Office was created, with the category of Honorary Consulate of Spain, in Eskisehir, in the Republic of Turkey, with a constituency in the provinces of Ktahya, Usak, Afyonkarahisar and Eskisehir.

Article 2 Dependency

The Honorary Consular Office, with the category of Honorary Consulate of Spain, in Eskisehir, dependent on the Embassy of Spain in Ankara.

Article 3 Head of the Honorary Consular Office of Spain in Eskisehir

The holder of the Honorary Consulate of Spain in Eskisehir will have, in accordance with article 9 of the Vienna Convention on consular relations, of April 24, 1963, the category of Honorary Consul.

Single additional provision No increase in personnel expenses

This modification will not entail any increase in personnel expenses, in accordance with the provisions of section one of the thirty-first additional provision of Law 22/2021, of December 29, on General State Budgets for the year 2022. Its operation attend to the material and personal means currently available to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.

This order will enter into force the day following its publication in the Official State Gazette.
