Leonardo Ruiz is 33 years old biologically and is the son of Rafael Ruiz, the dark-haired duo of Los del Río. He was born from the extramarital relationship that the singer had with Jaqueline Rodríguez, an admirer he met after a concert in Venezuela. Although he was legally recognized when in 2019 Rafael accepted the DNA tests that will confirm his affiliation, the interpreter of La Macarena never denied his paternity. Of course, the relationship with Leonardo, who suffers from 70% visual disability, has been very changeable. It is so true that for a few years he took care of and worried about the stability of his son, the filing of the paternity suit delayed communications.
Rafael did not hear that the issue was prosecuted, much less that the case transcended the media, generating great controversy. Since 2017, Leonardo has heard little or nothing from his father, who was very reluctant to maintain contact with him. ABC has learned that, after years of reproaches and tensions, in recent weeks this situation has changed. Rafael has agreed to his son's claims and communicates with him when the occasion warrants it. She sends him a text message from time to time, receives a call to worry about him or acknowledges him when it is important to do so: “he has heard that his son needs him, that it is important for him to have a little affection, that the money is just money”, says one of the people closest to Leonardo.

In this sense, Fernando Osuna, Leonardo's lawyer, acknowledges being very satisfied: “Rafael has shown a great waist and is having an exemplary attitude with his son at the moment. The work of communication, administration, that the lawyers of the parties have done has been transferred to the protagonists, and now there is a very good disposition”. Along the same lines, the affected person himself affirms that he is satisfied knowing that his father does not reject him, that he can count on him to solve the problems that concern him and that he feels loved.
Osuna, who specializes in defending the illegitimate of famous and anonymous children, believes that there was a turning point in this type of case when Carlos Baute decided to telephone his son José Daniel, stop all legal proceedings and assume, in all the senses, who was a father: "In this case he also applied the same technique and the results are very positive, I wish all the causes could be resolved in the same way," he says in statements granted to ABC.
In 2004 Jaqueline and her son decided to establish their residence in Seville. It was then that Rafael agreed to transfer 1.000 euros a month as child support. An amount that he stopped paying when his son came of age. The artist heard that Leonardo had to join the labor market and déentendre. Leonardo withdrew from the lawsuit claiming amounts and to which he was going to file for moral damages: "We don't want money, just love," Fernando Osuna clarifies.
