he had several stab wounds to the neck

The Civil Guard has arrested a neighbor for the death of Herminia López, 47, in the Toledo town of Yuncos. The lifeless and bloodied body was found this Friday in a chalet in the Cervantes urbanization. A sister-in-law found Herminia lying on the floor, inside the house and a short distance from the front door, at number 2 Dulcinea Street. She alerted the 112 emergency service, which activated the warning as an autolytic temptation (suicide).

The health personnel who arrived at the house could only confirm the death of Herminia. As there were signs of violence, the two local police officers who came to the house waited for the Civil Guard to arrive. It was past nine in the evening.

The victim, born on January 31, 1975, presented at least four stab wounds to the neck caused by a sharp object. The Civil Guard investigators spent several hours inside the house collecting vestiges and evidence, but it has not transpired if the weapon used has been recovered.

The first investigations ruled out that it was a case of gender violence and other hypotheses were studied, including suicide. However, the investigation of the Organic Unit of the Toledo Judicial Police, added to its Criminalistics laboratory, has led to one of the planted scenarios: that a neighbor was the author of Herminia's death. The agents in charge of the case have arrested the suspect and have entered and searched his home, sources from the armed institute have confirmed to 'ABC'.

In this town of 11.000 inhabitants, in the region of La Sagra, Herminia had been known for her drug addiction for years, although she commented that she had disengaged. “I am already cured”, she had assured neighbors with whom they had a relationship. She "she was very old" due to the consumption of drugs, they say in the municipality, but she "she behaved well, she did not cause problems".
