Compromís triggered a crisis in the Government by Ximo Puig and strikes down the Minister of Agriculture for her criticism

The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, the socialist Ximo Puig, has dismissed his hitherto Minister of Agriculture, Mirella Mollà -from Compromís-, this Tuesday by surprise, as his government partners have requested. Specifically, it has been the regional vice president, Aitana Mas, who has transferred to the head of the Consell - who has the power to make these movements - the decision of its formation in a conversation held between the two at the Palau de la Generalitat.

Mollà will be replaced in office by Isaura Navarro, who will cease as regional secretary of Public Health of the Department of Health -where she has had to deal with the pandemic- to head the regional department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition. Navarro "constitutes a front-line political and management profile", as indicated in a brief statement from the Presidency.

In the same letter sent to the media, it is indicated that this relief comes shortly after Aitana Mas -successor of Mónica Oltra, who resigned in June- has completed one hundred days in office, a period after which "she considers that it is necessary to changes that are committed to unity within the Consell, that require stability and cohesion in the face of the difficult socioeconomic context”.

«This situation -they add- forces the Valencian Government to require the approval of the budgets and the development of the transforming policies of the Botànic -PSPV, Compromís and Unides Podem-, particularly those linked to the social protection of families and companies Valencian”.

Precisely, the sources consulted by ABC establish the resistance of the former Minister of Agriculture to give the green light to the project of the autonomous public accounts of 2023 -agreed by the tripartite- as the last rudeness that has filled the patience of the vice president and has led her to hit the table at the loss of confidence in Mollà. According to these sources, the latter would have required modifying the items destined for Education and Equality - departments directed by Compromís - for the benefit of theirs.

Mireia Mollà, who joined the Consell after the 2019 elections and belongs to the same party as Mas, Oltra and Navarro -Iniciativa- within the coalition, is thanked for "her effort and dedication over the years". From her environment they describe this decision, communicated by telephone this same Tuesday afternoon, as incomprehensible and unjustified.

His departure from the Executive led by Puig comes just a week after he uncovered the box of thunder in his training - in a context of maximum internal division - due to statements in which he claimed the other two ministries involved in the processing of facilities of renewable energies "the same efforts" and "commitment" that his was making to accelerate a "fair and impact-free energy transition" and "promote the processing of plants of less than 50 megawatts".

A dart that did not sit well with the corresponding departments: Economy (Compromís) and Territorial Policy (PSPV). But, as a spokesman for the Consell, he asked that he flee from "tensions and personalism" in this matter. Meanwhile, the trustee of Compromís in the Valencian Courts, Papi Robles, also distanced herself from these criticisms and defended the “rigor” in the management of her government colleagues: “Dress me slowly, I'm in a hurry. Let's do it right, because in a few years we will regret it […] Miracles in Lourdes”.

With the current government crisis, the Consell faces its third change in fourteen months, eight before the forecast elections for May 2023, with some polls drawing a scenario of a technical tie between the blocs of the left and the right that would be more difficult that never the reissue of the progressive pact.
