Apple wants that before the year can pay for an iPhone as if it were Spotify or Netflix

Apple is working on a subscription service that allows users to access devices designed for the Cupertino-based company as if they were signing up for a subscription service. As reported by 'Bloomberg', a medium that cited sources familiar with the company's plans, the technology company led by Tim Cook is thus studying the design of a service that allows customers to access Apple products in exchange for a monthly fee.

The media noted that Apple's idea is that the process of buying an iPhone or an iPad is similar to accessing iCloud storage or using Apple Music. Also services like Spotify or Netflix. In fact, those from Cupertino would have planned to allow their users to use the same Apple ID and the same App Store account to subscribe to this new service.

From 'Bloomberg' this subscription service was compared to a kind of rental of the device in question for as long as it is subscribed. In addition, Apple did not introduce the possibility for the user to exchange it for a new model.

There is talk that said subscription service may become a reality by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023, although it is not ruled out that it may even be canceled. If confirmed, it would be one more bet by Apple for a membership-based model, as Apple Music, Apple Arcade and Apple TV Plus, among others, already do.

Currently, the sale of iPhones is the main source of income for the company, which in 2021 entered 192.000 million dollars for free in the flagship device, which represents more than half of the annual turnover.
