Another fire in the Sierra de la Culebra cuts the Madrid-Galicia AVE for a few hours

The fire has once again been taken in the province of Zamora, the most devastated in this fateful summer in the relentless fight against forest fires. And again in the surroundings of the Sierra de la Culebra, where a fire at the end of June reduced more than 25,000 hectares to ash and another at the beginning of July burned another 31,000, in total more than 5 percent of the entire devastated province.

This time, the flames have begun to spread near the train tracks, specifically the Madrid-Galicia AVE, which has led to cutting off the three high-speed rail traffic at the height of the province of Zamoranda.

The fire, which has already been declared level 2 -on an ascending scale of danger that rises from 0 to 3-, has led the Infocal device of the Junta de Castilla y León to require the road to be cut, after the Flames are on both sides of the sleepers, according to aerial images released through the @NaturalezaCyL account of the regional Executive. At the end of the day, the rapid intervention of the operation has allowed to go down to level 0 and circulation on the railway has been restored.

The fire started at 17:15 p.m. in the municipality of Val de Santa María, in the province of Zamora. On the ground, at this time, different means are working both by land and by air to try to contain the avant of the flames. Environmental technicians and agents, ground squads, fire trucks, bulldozers, bombers, helicopter brigades and helicopters themselves work on the extinction tasks.

In very vivid memory, the images of the train surrounded by fire in Bejís, in the province of Castellón, with panic-stricken travelers and only one driver in charge of the passage, in which several travelers were injured after getting off the convoy.
