Ximo Puig insists on placing the Azud case in the past and stresses that the PSPV made "very clear decisions"

The president of the Generalitat and leader of the PSPV-PSOE, Ximo Puig, has affirmed that the Valencian socialists adopted "very sharp decisions" after the investigation of the Azud case and "separated" the alleged leaders of his party. "This has not been the case of the PP, which at the moment the only person directly involved in this case is the most important institutional position they have," said Puig, referring to Jorge Bellver, deputy and vice president of the Board of the Valencian Parliament. .

This is what Puig said Wednesday during his visit to Alicante, after being asked by journalists about the statements by the president of the PPCV, Carlos Mazón, who has demanded that Puig "show his face" on the Azud case, that he say "who is the boss or even if it is him” and clarify the alleged “6 percent commissions”.

In this regard, the leader of the Valencian socialists has maintained that the PSPV has "always" approached the Azud case "from the seriousness and rigor" and although "the people in charge have said that things were done well, in any case we will separate them in a moment”.

“This has been the usual dynamic in the PSOE. We make very strong decisions. This has not been the case of the PP, which at the moment the only person directly involved in this case is the most important institutional position they have", he pointed out, referring to Jorge Bellver, whose figure appears on a list of gifts that the plot supposedly made when He held the position of Town Planning Councilor of the Valencia City Council, in the period in which Rita Barberá was mayor of the city

Along the same lines, he has stressed that the investigation of the Azud case refers to the electoral campaigns of 2007 and 2008, "more than 15 years ago", and has pointed out that it began "at a time when all the Valencian institutions were governed by the PP”.

Likewise, Puig has ensured that, in relation to "all derivatives that could affect the PSOE, as we have already done with a preventive nature, the corresponding causes will be given." “It is our way of hearing what has been the great paradigm shift in the Valencian Community”, he added.

“When the PP governed in 2015, the Valencian Community was known as the space of corruption; and now it is known as the community of innovation, progress and social policies. That is what it is about, clearly what this community has achieved by working hard: removing the stigma of corruption. Of course, we have put all the instruments and we will continue to put them so that there is no hint of corruption in the Community ”, he has settled.
