The Constitutional admits the appeal of the Diputación de Alicante against the Ximo Puig Cooperation Fund

The president of the Diputación de Alicante, Carlos Mazón, has been satisfactorily assessed this Wednesday the admission for processing, by the Constitutional Court, the appeal of unconstitutionality presented by the provincial institution against the Regulatory Law of the Municipal Cooperation Fund of the Generalitat Valenciana .

This initiative of the popular deputies is based on the premise that this regional plan threatens the autonomy of the Provincial Council when it comes to deciding its investments, while, according to the distribution criteria established in said plan, it penalizes municipalities with less population, priorities for budgeted and government action of the provincial institution, as reported by the provincial institution in a statement.

“If there is a dialogue with the Consell, we will agree, but if it continues with this way of imposing things, we will not move forward”, Mazón warned.

"From an office"

As soon as he heard, the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, "has preferred not to go to dialogue, agreement and collaboration, but has decided, from an office in the city of Valencia, to impose his model on the entire territory", while insisting that the Diputación and the province of Alicante "have their own way of doing things".

For the moment, Mazón maintains his confidence in stopping this financing formula in the courts: "We hope that the Constitutional Court will put order in this matter", for whom this is "the first step to assert local and provincial autonomy, against the demand of the Generalitat.
