Alicante allocates 50 million to modernize Local Police, Fire and Civil Protection

The Department of Security of the Alicante City Council has designed a draft budget of almost 50 million euros (specifically 48.682.729 euros) to modernize and provide better infrastructure for the Security Forces.

The accounts contemplate 44.853.709 euros for the expenditure of the Local Police personnel, the Fire Prevention, Extinction Service and the Group of Civil Protection volunteers in 2022, as well as a total of 2.335.221 euros to manage the areas and some reversals of 1.493.799 euros.

For this year, the firefighters of the Fire Prevention, Extinction and Rescue Service are going to make significant investments of 1,4 million in 2022, for the purchase of new trucks, specialized clothing, furniture and machinery.

The Local Police has been able to provide a forecast as well as having investments financed with remnants, means with which to buy a new boat, vehicles, police weapons and machinery.

The Councilor for Security pointed out that within the framework of the Edusi 1,5 million will be invested for "the acquisition of tablets, within the GestecPol program, included in the Smart City 2.0 plan to modernize the technological infrastructures of the Local Police of Alicante ”.

In total, the personnel expense item is one of the most important with 32.902.659 euros for the Local Police, as well as 11.653.455 euros for the SPEIS firefighters, and 297.595 euros for the Civil Protection Group. The Local Police and the Fire Department contemplate in the next financial year 2022 the incorporation of new troops in the corresponding Public Employment Offers that will be taken out once this draft budget is definitively approved. The budget includes a consigned item for new clothing, which has a budget of 317.896 euros.
