A 56-year-old woman becomes pregnant with her son to have a grandson

A grandmother is going to give birth to her own granddaughter. This is the case of Nancy Hauck, a 56-year-old woman from Utah (United States) who has decided to become pregnant with her son, Jeff Hauck, after learning of her daughter-in-law's difficulties in gestating.

Nancy has told the British newspaper 'Daily Mail' that her son's wife, Cambria Hauck, has undergone an emergency hysterectomy, surgery is decided to remove the uterus, suffering complications in her second birth.

The couple has four children: two twin girls and two twin boys. Despite this, Jeff's dream was to have one more baby. For this reason, her mother did not hesitate to offer to be her surrogate mother: “Cambria could no longer have her own children. I had a feeling that she should offer to do it for me.”

About 26 years after her last pregnancy

Last February, Nancy received the frozen embryos of her son and daughter-in-law. Although they are calm and happy now, the woman has acknowledged that she had doubts, since her last pregnancy was 26 years ago. “It was a bit scary,” she has assured.

However, the doctors confirmed that they were in perfect condition and that they could continue. The American has explained how the process is going: “The pregnancy has been very similar to having my son, but I have been a little more dizzy. I feel very powerful carrying my son's daughter."

The family is very grateful

Nancy has told how the family received the news: "My son first showed surprise and ended up crying his eyes out."

“I have a completely selfless and loving mother, who was willing to make this kind of sacrifice for us,” Jeff has said. His daughter-in-law Cambria is also very appreciative of his gesture. "It's been so beautiful to watch Nancy take our sweet little girl because she knew how complicated the process could be and she doubted it would come to fruition," she said. However, Nancy's husband did not find out about his decision until some time later.
