The actresses Marta Nieto and Marina Salas, for their work in 'La infamia', and Pepa Pedroche ('The innocent saints'); the actor Carlos Hipólito ('Oceanía'), the dancer Israel Galván ('Seises'); the playwright Laia Ripoll ('Tea Room') or the composer Tomás Marco ('Police and Robbers') are some of the candidates for the Max awards, organized by the SGAE through the SGAE Foundation, and which this year reaches its 26th edition.

Around April 17, at the Gran Teatro Falla in Cádiz, the gala will be held (broadcast live on TVE) in which the vein interpreters will be deployed as a category of awards that seek to stimulate and reward the talent of the theater and dance professionals from our country, in addition to promoting the shows of the season.

The Max jury meeting took place last Thursday, March 2, 2023 electronically. Of the 529 shows registered in this edition, 168 candidates turned out. Among them, only 44 assemblies have reached the last phase. After the first selection phase, designated by the three territorial juries (Madrid, Catalonia and Communities), a court made up of the three presidents of the territorial juries, four personalities from the Performing Arts and a member of the Organizing Committee has been in charge of deciding the finalists.

Two special prizes have already been awarded: the Honorary Max Prize, which distinguished the trajectory of the Tricicle company, and the Amateur or social Max Prize, which recognized the work of Payasospital, an association founded by Sergio Claramunt that works in pediatric hospitals. of the Valencian Community. It will also be distinguished by the first prize with the Max Audience Applause Award, as a professional jury it will recognize a show that stands out for its artistic or technical quality and is supported by the massive attendance of spectators and permanence on the billboard for the last five seasons.
