Touring Spain on a luxury train is a unique experience that is worth living at least once in your life. Renfe has put its tourist trains back into operation, since April 30, so that those who wish can opt for a different holiday with all kinds of comforts in wagons that recall the splendor of past times, a stay that is completed with different activities and visits to different cities.

The Transcantábrico Grand Luxury

The Transcantábrico Grand Luxury Train, created in 1983, made a record of 8 days and 7 nights between San Sebastián and Santiago de Compostela (or vice versa) visiting places such as Santander, Oviedo, Gijón and Bilbao. This railway gem is a luxury hotel with 20-year-old original historic waves and upscale living quarters.

The 14 luxury suites on this train combine the elegance of the last century with all the modern comforts. It also includes a private bathroom with hydromassage, Wi-Fi connection and 24-hour cleaning service. The train also has four spectacular lounges and a restaurant car. Lunches and dinners are made either on board, prepared in the kitchens of the train itself by an expert staffed with professionals, or in the most renowned restaurants in the cities along the route. Includes guided tours, entrance to monuments and shows, activities on board, multilingual guide and bus transfers. The price of accommodation in a deluxe suite is from 11.550 euros (double cabin) and from 10.105 (single).

Al-Andalus Train

The Al Ándalus train made a journey of 7 days and 6 nights visiting cities such as Seville, Córdoba, Cádiz, Ronda and Granada. This model, which began in Andadura in 1985 and was completed in 2012 with a comprehensive reform, offers the opportunity to create an Andalusia with exclusive attention, maximum comfort and glamor surrounded by the Belle Epoque. All first-class rooms have a full bathroom, Wi-Fi connection and panoramic views to contemplate the landscape. It is the same series of wagons that the English monarchy used to use on its journeys through France, between Calais and the Côte d'Azur, in the 20s. With its 450 meters in length, the Al Andalus Train is the longest that circulates along the routes of Spain. There are 14 wagon cars that can be combined with a total of 74 people distributed in restaurant cars, restaurant cars, bar cars, game room cars and camo cars. The price for Deluxe suite accommodation is 9.790 euros in a double cabin and 8.565 euros in a single cabin.

The Robla Express

Renfe has scheduled two routes in 2022 for this train. The route of the old coal train route in both directions between León and Bilbao, which coincides with the English Camino de Santiago, is one of them, operating in the months of June, July, September and October. It is a trip of 3 days and 2 nights. The other option, called the Pilgrim's Route, will be held on the occasion of the Jacobean Holy Year and will allow it to be carried out at different stages of the English Way, between Ferrol and Santiago de Compostela. For this route, the train will leave Oviedo on August 10, 17, 24 and 31 and will return to Oviedo again after six days of travel.

The common spaces of El Expreso de La Robla have three air-conditioned and exquisitely decorated saloon cars that offer permanent bar service. It also has four sleeping cars with seven compartments each, all equipped with large bunk beds and decorated in a classic style with wood and elegance to promote a cozy atmosphere. The origin of this train is related to that of the narrow gauge line itself, which dates back to the end of the 2.000th century. The price for standard accommodation is 1.750 euros in a double cabin and XNUMX in a single cabin.

Green Coast Express

The Costa Verde Express Train, like the heir to El Transcantábrico, is a sober jewel of rails. It offers itineraries of 6 days and 5 nights through the north of Spain, between Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela, crossing the four communities of Green Spain. It has 23 Grand Class rooms with capacity for 46 people. Includes breakfast, tickets to monuments and shows, activities, guided tours, multilingual guide throughout the tour and buses for travel. In addition, a luxury bus will always accompany the train to transfer passengers from the station to the places that are visited and the restaurants where dinners or lunches will be held, among others. It offers laundry service, medical care, as well as personalized service attending to any request that travelers require. The departures take place between the months of April and November. The price is 7.000 euros in a double cabin and 6.125 in a single cabin.
