The jury in the case of Marta Calvo reaches a verdict on the accused of her murder

The popular jury that judges Jorge Ignacio Palma for the alleged Marta Calvo, Arliene Ramos and Lady Marcela already has a verdict. In this regard, the parties have been summoned from four in the afternoon this Friday in the City of Justice of Valencia to proceed with its reading.

The object of the verdict reached the jury, made up of nine people, on Monday at noon. In total, I had to answer more than seven hundred questions. After his ruling, it will be a judge who will impose, where appropriate, the penalties.

The magistrate has explained that he has not found any error that should motivate the return of the verdict or the votes to the jury. So the result will be considered valid whatever it is.

The defendant has defended his innocence throughout the trial and, in fact, when he had the last word, he insisted that "the only thing I can say is that I have not taken anyone's life, I have not drugged anyone, I have not I have raped no one nor have I put drugs in anyone's genitals”.

The accused, who is attributed, in addition to the homicides, seven other crimes of sexual abuse to other young people -all of them prostitutes-, said on the last day of the trial that he felt "a lot" the pain that Marta Calvo's family may have for not having found the body, but he said “what happened in great detail. I have nothing more to contribute,” he stated.

Jorge Ignacio will face permanent reviewable prison, as some accusations claim, while the Prosecutor's Office requests 120 years in prison, 10 years less than what was initially required after withdrawing one of the victims as an accusation, who did not want to testify in the juice. The accused three crimes of homicide and 10 sexual abuse. For its part, the defense requested acquittal.
