Tall, blond, with long hair and a big smile, this is the new idol of the United Kingdom and part of the European continent. His number Sam Ryder, a 32-year-old singer-songwriter who came to Eurovision 2022 as one of the favorite artists to win the Festival. His theme 'Space Man' had conquered a large part of the European public, even before being put on stage. The secret was on social networks and it is that, two years before getting this second place in Eurovision for the United Kingdom, he already triumphed among the youngest thanks to his videos on TikTok.

During the confinement, in the year 2020, Sam, whose real last name is Robinson, covered the successes of artists such as Queen, Blondie, Adele or Britney Spears.

His sympathy and naturalness conquered users, reaching more than 12 million followers. Artists like Justin Bieber and Alicia Keys will contribute to the 101 million likes.

The TikTok star, a platform that has sponsored the Festival for a year, was born in the English city of Maldon, in Essex County. She attended St John Payne Catholic School, in Chelmsford, where she began her passion for singing. It was an album by the English heavy metal band 'Iron Maiden' that marked her destiny. Years later, a concert by the Canadian rock group 'Sum 41' inspired him to follow his path. At the age of 19 he debuted as a singer and guitarist in the band 'The Morning After', with which he released two studio albums.

In 2012 she became the vocalist of 'Blessed by a Broken Heart' and later she was part of the American band 'Close Your Eyes', in which she was until 2014.

A year later, tired of struggling in the world of music, the singer begins a new life. His entrepreneurial hippie spirit leads him to open a vegan juice bar with his longtime girlfriend, Lois Gaskin-Barber.

For two years he divided his time between the bar of the 'Lone Wolves Organic' bar and the beaches of Hawaii. Throughout this time, the couple's somewhat anarchic nature led them to drop everything to go surfing and looking for shells for Lois's jewelry line, 'Lone Wolves Creative'.

The Coronavirus crisis forced the couple to close the bar and Sam went back to doing what he liked best, singing. He signed with the label, Parlophone Records and in February 2021 he released the EP 'The Sun's Gonna Rise'.
