Real Sociedad and Real Betis signed a goalless draw this Friday at the start of matchday 32 of LaLiga Santander that hampers their chances of reaching the Champions League zone in the table, with a worse taste in the mouth for the locals that were somewhat better at the Reale Arena.
The Basque team dominated for more minutes and more time and more arrivals at the rival goal, but the score did not move. Thus, the Betis remain fifth, tied on 57 points with Atlético de Madrid but with one more game. Meanwhile, Real is sixth with 55, and one day less for both in search of the 'Top 4'.
The European zone has it very secure, but the jackpot of the 'Champions' forces to add three by three while waiting for how the day continues. La Real dominated and came with danger but, above all, Isak, had no aim in the greatest evil this season. Betis had their chances, but was forced to defend rather than attack.
The pressure of the home side made it uncomfortable for the Andalusians, with David Silva and Rafinha dominating the game well. Isak soon began to forgive, while the Betis team breathed with the starts of Álex Moreno, who never found an auctioneer. William Carvalho had the visiting senior.
Sorloth breaking lines and arriving dangerously was another good alternative for the Basques, who at the start of the second half knew how to stop Betis's reaction. Again it was through Álex Moreno, with Canales more active than Fekir, but Manuel Pellegrini's team did not find a clear path of danger.
As the minutes went by there was also the fear of losing, but Imanol Alguacil's men pressed harder, with the Betis shrinking like Bartra in a Januzaj action. In a tense final, with the desire for revenge in the Basques, especially for the elimination of the Copa del Rey, David Silva was expelled and the distribution of points nullified the direct dule for battling the Champions zone.
