Coup of authority of Pol Hervás, new leader of the Imperial Toledo

Pol Hervás, from the Brocar-Alé team, was the strongest on the final ramp of Añover de Tajo, one kilometer with a gradient of seven percent, he completed the second stage of the I Vuelta a Toledo Imperial and is at the head of the general classification of a cycling race for under-25 runners that will be decided this Sunday in Escalona.

The Catalan de Viladecans, who will be 24 years old next week, lasted almost 150 kilometers along with six other rivals, rendering the efforts of a peloton in which there was no collaboration useless. Hervás won against 3 sales segments by Sebastián Calderón and eight by Carlos Collazos, but in the general classification he leads Marcel Camprubí, also Catalan, by 31 and Italian Andrea Montoli by 39.

The 174-kilometer stage started from Gerindote and the breakaway was formed before the 25th. There were eight men in it, who stayed at seven (Pol Hervás, Sebastián Calderón, Carlos Collazos, Alejandro del Cid, Fernando Piñero, Juan José Pérez and Alejandro Martínez) after passing through Alto del Robledillo. That moment, 80 meters from the finish line, was key. The platoon was still in time to hunt down the escapees. However, the Eolo-Kometa, led by Manuel Oioli, did not push the car and the responsibility passed to the Previley Maglia Coforma Bembibre Team, second in the Mazarambroz team time trial.

His work was not enough to hunt down those ahead and passing through Toledo capital, just over 30 kilometers from the finish, it was already clear that the breakaway was going to succeed. In addition to winning this Saturday at Añover de Tajo, Hervás had already imposed a few months ago at the Julio López Chineta Memorial in Burguillos, organized by the same club as this I Vuelta a Toledo Imperial.

This Sunday the third and final stage of 148 kilometers was held, starting and finishing in Escalona. With a cumulative drop of more than 2.300 metres, the main difficulty will be the climb to Puerto del Piélago (which will also be experienced in the Vuelta a España).
