The Ministry of Education proposed a drop in university fees of up to 8.67 percent for the first degree enrollment in the 2023-2024 academic year compared to the 2022-2023 academic year. Likewise, the prices of the first registrations for a non-qualifying master's degree will drop by about 19 percent compared to those existing this year.

The Junta de Castilla y León has highlighted this Thursday that, as a novelty this year, it also intends to reduce the cost that EBAU enrollment entails for families: those who present themselves for the general phase and pay will ordinarily close to 16 percent less, a decrease that exceeds 54 percent for those who access the exam in the voluntary phase. The new prices will now apply to those who take the test in 2023.

The draft Decree, which also contemplated the exemption of payment for people affected by the conflict in Ukraine who are beneficiaries of temporary protection, will be able to receive citizen contributions in the coming weeks. Subsequently, it will continue its regulatory processing until its approval by the Governing Council.

The Ministry of Education figures the revocation of the Board to carry out these reductions at less than five million euros.
