The mayor of Toledo, Milagros Tolón, thanked this Friday for the work and effort that the brotherhoods, chapters and brotherhoods of the city have made to make it possible for Holy Week -declared of International Tourist Interest- to be celebrated again in “all its manifestations” after two years of suspension, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Milagros Tolón, who presented the brother guide for Holy Week at the San Marcos Cultural Center, has announced that the city's cultural and tourist offer will be completed with a Cycle of Religious Music, which includes performances until April 21. "After two years of absence we return to sens the brotherly feeling and it is a symptom that we are going to recover normality", the councilor has pointed out.
The mayor has stressed that in this celebration, a hallmark of Toledo, more than 6.000 brotherhoods that the city has will participate and that they will procession through the brotherhoods and brotherhoods. In this sense, she has highlighted the work carried out by the Chapter of Christ the Redeemer, which this year turns 75 and to which tribute is paid with the poster, whose foreground is the Christ the Redeemer that parades every Holy Wednesday night.

The municipal official, who has shared with the public attending the act is and feels like a brother, has had words of gratitude towards the president of the Board of Brotherhoods, Ana Pérez Álvarez, "for your selfless work" so that the Toledo Passion Week "reference of the sea".
The book presented by the mayor collects detailed and essential information on the processions and brotherhoods that participated in the processions this year, as well as a brief historical review, curiosities and other details.

“A certain normality”
For his part, the Archbishop of Toledo, Francisco Cerro, has stated that this Holy Week will be the first to pass in his position "with a certain normality", while he has described this religious festival as "one of the most beautiful in the world for its beauty, for the staging of the brotherhoods, for the people and for all those who work anonymously so that the streets become authentic catechesis”.
Francisco Cerro, who has received the 'Nazarene of Honor' from the Board of Brotherhoods on behalf of all the clergy of Toledo, has wished that in this Holy Week "hopefully we continue to get the best out of ourselves so that we can get ahead in the face of these crises so tremendous" and has considered that "this may be a good time to be able to once again recover hope, joy and happiness".
In this act he also entered the Nazarene of Honor 2022 that recognizes a person and entities that support Holy Week in the city and that this year they have received in the Toledo clergy and in Diocesan Radio Television.
The presentation of the events and news of Holy Week 2022 was attended by representatives of the municipal corporation, the Board of Brotherhoods, as well as civil, military and religious society.
