Castilla y León will benefit from a 25% reduction in the Avant and Media Distancia energy rate for recurring travelers

The Junta de Castilla y León has closed an agreement with Renfe to discount 25% on the Media Distancia-Alta Velocidad (AVANT) and Media Distancia-Conventional multi-trip transport tickets in the registration network from next January and that It will last for four years.

This was announced on Wednesday by the Minister of Mobility and Digital Transformation of the Junta de Castilla y León, María González Corral, in her appearance in Parliament to give an account of the items that she publishes to her portfolio of the Autonomous Accounts for 2023, between but that includes the three million euros that this tariff bonus assumed by the regional administration is prevented from being covered next year, which will approve the aforementioned agreement with Renfe “soon”.

The beneficiaries of this discount will be residents of Castilla y León, who are recurring travelers, on railway sections whose origin or destination are stations within the Community.

During the speech, González Corral pointed out that this agreement will imply a "boost" for the mobility policy and "population fixation", "with the ultimate objective of responding to the needs of citizens in their habitual movements" both in neighboring communities as between certain routes in Castilla y León, "thus ensuring that they can continue to maintain their residence in the Community."

The City Council has recorded that the Junta de Castilla y León has applied "for several years" discount policies on rail transport, by subsidizing the subscriptions of recurring travelers on the conventional train from Ávila to Madrid, with a reduction 50 percent of the payment that has meant an annual saving for users of 1.500 euros per year.
