The Defense Ministers of the European Union have created a coordination pharmacy to be located in Poland to cover the military aid needs of the Ukrainian army with the availability of the different national armies to supply it. The Commission has a budget premium of 500 million euros, but bilaterally the different governments can opt for other types of contributions, including the fighter-bombers that Ukraine needs. For now, the EU has already given the Ukrainian Army access to its satellite observation systems.
The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, has recognized that this operation implies a direct risk for the European Union itself since Moscow has clearly said that it considers this aid to Ukraine as "unfriendly and therefore they would attack those who suMinistern.
What's more, the person in charge of European foreign policy has come to say when asked where this military aid will be obtained that “we are in a war. I'm not going to give you information that can be used by the enemy, Russia would be delighted."
According to Borrell, all defense ministers agreed to provide this military aid to Ukraine. “They need ammunition, medical supplies and weapons of all kinds. We are going to grant them this armament with European financing and all the defense ministers agreed. Member states are determined to reinforce this military aid on a bilateral basis to react to the illegal and brutal acts of Putin and Lukashenko."
Borrell confirmed the creation of this coordination office “which collects the requests of the Ukrainians and the offers of the countries. Ukraine has already asked us for help in aerospace information and we mobilize our satellites, we must act quickly, we cannot wait for all the steps of the diplomatic procedure”.
